
The Sandler Training Golf Team will compete in this weekend’s Wachovia Championship in Charlotte, N.C. after playing in the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. John Rollins and Omar Uresti represented Sandler Training at the Nelson tournament in Irving, Texas.
Look for Sandler stars Woody Austin and Brian Bateman this weekend vying for the top spot at the Wachovia Championship at Quail Hollow Country Club.

John Rollins fired a two under par 69 in the final round of the Verizon Heritage at Hilton Head, S.C., capping another solid performance that put him in the top 15 finishers. Rollins battled for the lead on the opening day with a four under par 67. Then he moved up four spots on the leader list on the final day of the tournament, finishing at six under par.
Woody Austin shot a 3 under par 68 on the last day and, powered by his opening round 69, finished in the top 25.

Brian Bateman shrugged off high winds and slick greens at Augusta National, posting a Top 20 finish at The Masters. Shooting a three under par opening round 69, Bateman finished the first day in a tie for second place. He ended the prestigious tournament at three over par despite “torturous” weather conditions, according to press reports.

Omar Uresti made a strong statement at the Shell Houston Open this weekend, shooting a four under par 68 in the opening round and a three under 69 in the third. Uresti’s Top 40 showing proves he’s on track for the rest of the 2008 PGA tour.
Now it’s time for the Masters, the tour’s premier event, with three Sandler Training Golf Team members competing in Augusta: Woody Austin, Brian Bateman, and John Rollins.

The Sandler Training Golf Team Shows Promise with Woody Austin Finishing in Top Five at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans
Woody Austin played exceptionally well this week, finishing in a tie for fourth place at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Austin now holds his best finish to date in the 2008 Tour.
According to the Final Round Notebook at PGATOUR.COM, Austin’s twelfth start at the event proved to be his most successful yet with his third top 10 finish at the TPC.
Brian Bateman held strong this weekend.
