What an exciting season it has been for Sandler Training sponsored golfers. On Sunday, John Rollins and Woody Austin finished competing in the prestigious BMW Championship, one of professional golf’s most elite events. This marked the end of their campaign, but such a big season deserved a big end. So far this year, Rollins has earned $2,229,408 and Austin has earned $1,137,331. Rollins enjoyed a T1 finish in the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open, and Austin enjoyed a T6 finish in the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

Now these PGA golfers will be taking a few weeks off to prepare for their upcoming fall tournaments. They will return for events this October. Stay tuned!

Over the long Memorial Day weekend, Sandler Training sponsored golfer John Rollins made the cut in the HP Byron Nelson Championship, finishing with a final score of 72-66-68-69. It’s the 10th time Rollins has made the cut this year—and such consistent good performance isn’t going unnoticed or unrewarded. Rollins is currently ranked 19th in the FedEx Cup standings and 20th among money leaders on the PGA TOUR.

This coming weekend, Rollins and Woody Austin will compete in the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas. Over $6 million is up for grabs—don’t miss a minute! Tune in to GOLF on 5/28 and 5/29 from 3-6 pm and to CBS on 5/30 and 5/31 from 3-6 pm.

This past weekend, many of the world’s best golfers, including Sandler Training sponsored Woody Austin and John Rollins, delivered exciting performances in the ultra-competitive PLAYERS Championship. Both Austin and Rollins made the cut, finishing T22 and T37 respectively. Most exciting was Austin’s prominence throughout the NBC coverage Sunday afternoon—with Tiger Woods also playing at that time, the broadcast drew a large and attentive audience. Austin and Rollins will take on the Valero Texas Open this coming weekend. Tune in to GOLF 5/14 and 5/15 from 3-6 pm, and on CBS 5/16 and 5/17 from 3-6 pm. Omar Uresti will compete in the BMW Charity Pro-Am, a Nationwide Tour event to be held in Spartanburg and Greenville, South Carolina, and Millsburg, North Carolina. Coverage will air on GOLF 5/14 and 5/15 from 1-3 pm, and on 5/16 and 5/17 from 1-4 pm.

Expect much action and excitement this weekend as Sandler Training sponsored golfers John Rollins and Woody Austin compete in THE PLAYERS Championship, held in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Known to some commentators as the “Fifth Major,” this tournament is considered nearly as important as The Masters, U.S. Open, British Open or PGA Championship. THE PLAYERS Championship also carries the biggest purse of any PGA event—$9.5 million, with the winner taking home almost $2 million—attracting the world’s best golfers to the challenging TPC Sawgrass course with its famous “island–green” 17th hole.

Cheer on Rollins and Austin by tuning in to GOLF on 5/7 and 5/8 from 1 to 7 pm, and to NBC on 5/9 and 5/10 from 2 to 7 pm.

Sandler Training sponsored golfers made a strong showing this past week, with all three—John Rollins, Woody Austin and Omar Uresti—making the cut in their respective tournaments. Rollins in particular performed well. Competing in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, he shot 69–67–71–73, earning a T13 finish. Sandler Training is pleased to congratulate him on this occasion.

Next week, Rollins and Austin will compete against such players as Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson for a share of a purse worth $6 million in the Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina. Last weekend, Sandler Training sponsored golfer Woody Austin earned an impressive T11 finish—his best finish so far in 2009—in the Verizon Heritage on South Carolina’s Hilton Head Island. Over the four–day tournament period, Austin’s game remained steady, leading him to a final score of 70–73–66–69, or six under par. Austin is currently ranked 51st in the All–Around ranking of the PGA TOUR.

This coming week, both Austin and John Rollins will play in the Zurich Classic in Avondale, Louisiana. Tune in to GOLF on 4/23 and 4/24 from 3 to 6 pm, and on 4/25 and 4/26 from 1 to 2:30 pm. You can also watch Omar Uresti compete in the South Georgia Classic, a Nationwide Tour event to be held in Valdosta, Georgia. Sandler Training sponsored Omar Uresti competed this past weekend in the Stonebrae Classic, a Nationwide Tour competition held in Hayward, California. Scoring 73-71-68-67, he earned a top 15 finish—his best finish so far in 2009. Congratulations, Omar! John Rollins is to be congratulated, too, having made the cut in the Shell Houston Open.

Now it’s spring break for our golfers. The next Tour events to have Rollins, Austin or Uresti compete will be the Verizon Heritage, beginning April 13 and ending April 19, and the Athens Regional Foundation Classic, also taking place April 13-19. This past weekend, Sandler Training sponsored Woody Austin and John Rollins participated in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, held at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida, while Omar Uresti competed in the Chitimacha Louisiana Open.

And the tour keeps rolling on, promising more excitement for golf fans. This week, Uresti will take on the Stonebrae Classic, a Nationwide Tour event to be held in San Francisco, California. Austin and Rollins will play in the Shell Houston Open. As the spring comes on, Sandler Training’s golfers are heating up. This past weekend, Woody Austin participated in the Transitions Championship in Palm Harbor, Florida, scoring 69-73-69-74 overall and finishing in the top 35.

Next week, Omar Uresti will compete in the Chitimacha Louisiana Open, a Nationwide Tour event, while Austin and John Rollins will try for a piece of the almost $6 million dollar purse in the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando.
